神武天皇東征の折、八咫烏に導かれその先鋒を務めた道臣命（みちのおみのみこと）の図。

Michinomi-no-Mikoto was the spearhead of Emperor Jinmu’s eastern expedition, led by Yatagarasu.

「開明貴族表」明治10年(1877) 進斎
こちらはちょっと珍しい明治期の貴族大集合の浮世絵。
洋装が多いのも、興味深いところ。

Here is a rather unusual ukiyoe of a large group of aristocrats from the Meiji period. It is interesting to note that many of them are dressed in Western clothes.

On the 1st of next month, we will introduce 8 recommended works on our homepage. Here is one of them. Sounds of thunder can be heard, can’t it?
The last week of August has passed in a blink of an eye. Our summer vacation is over.
For this week, we will be temporarily closed on September 1 (Fri.), but will be open for other regular business hours.
